Ken Anderson

 

Ken Anderson threw for 32,838 yards and 197 regular season TDs during his 16 years with the Bengals.  He added 1,321 yards and nine TDs during the playoffs.  He also scored 20 rushing TDs during the regular season and one during the playoffs.  He made four Pro Bowls and was named NFL MVP once.  Thanks, Ken!

Adrian Dantley

Adrian Dantley played in the NBA for 15 seasons, averaging 24.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.  He was a six-time All-Star, two-time scoring leader, and the 1976-77 Rookie of the Year.  He was inducted into the Hall of Fame.  Thanks, Adrian!

Shane Battier

Shane Battier played in the NBA for 13 seasons, averaging 8.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.  He was named to the All-Rookie team and named to the All-Defensive team twice.  He was part of two NBA Championship teams with the Miami Heat.  Thanks, Shane!

Desmond Howard

Desmond Howard is best known for returning punts and kicks.  He scored on eight punt returns during the regular season, as well as one during the postseason.  Perhaps his most famous return was the 99-yard kickoff return in Super Bowl XXXI that helped lift the Packers to victory and earn him Super Bowl MVP honors.  Howard had seven receiving TDs during his eleven NFL seasons and was named to the Pro Bowl once.  Thanks, Desmond!

Roy White

Roy White won two World Series and made two All-Star teams during his 15 years with the Yankees.  He later coached for the team as well.  I met him at a car show at the New Haven Coliseum when I was a kid (and the Coliseum existed), where he was signing for free and talked to him for a few minutes.  He's a great guy.  White finished his career with 160 Home Runs, 758 RBI, and 233 Stolen Bases.  He signed his 1996 Topps Rookie Card and an index card for $5.  Thanks, Roy!

Tatum Bell

Tatum Bell ran for 2,773 yards across five NFL seasons, including one season over 1,000 yards.  He rushed for 16 TDs during the regular season and one in the playoffs.  Thanks, Tatum!

Jerry Reinsdorf

Jerry Reinsdorf owns the Bulls and the White Sox, and he presided over basketball's greatest dynasty, the 1990s Bulls teams led by Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.  The Bulls won six Championships during the 90s, earning Reinsdorf a spot in the Basketball Hall of Fame.  The White Sox also won one World Series, in 2005, during his time as owner, their first since 1917.  Thanks, Jerry!

Steve Pearce

Steve Pearce hit 91 home runs and drove in 303 runs during 13 MLB regular seasons.  He added four home runs and twelve RBI during postseason play, three home runs and eight RBI of which came during the 2018 World Series.  He was named MVP of that Series, which he inscribed on the Red Sox card I sent to him.  This is a pretty cool return, even though I'm a Yankees fan.  Thanks, Steve!
